Pharmacists Mutual Companies (PMC) has evolved as a specialized insurance resource for pharmacists, dentists, home medical equipment providers, home healthcare providers and other health professionals. Founded in 1909 as Druggists Mutual Insurance Company of Iowa by pharmacist Al Falkenhainer, it was and remains today a true mutual company, owned by our policyholders. Falkenhainer's goal was to provide low cost insurance and prompt, fair claims service to members of the pharmacy profession. But more than that, he wanted to establish a company that could respond to the needs of the industry. More than one hundred years later, that goal still guides the business, as we serve a variety of health professionals.

Today, Pharmacists Mutual operates in 49 states and the District of Columbia, and has grown to be a nationally recognized leader in serving the insurance and risk mangement needs of the healthcare industry under the Pharmacists Mutual  and PMC Insurance Solutions umbrella of companies: Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company, Pharmacists Life Insurance Company and Pro Advantage Services, Inc., d/b/a Pharmacists Insurance Agency (in California).
