| | Position Title: | Programmer/Analyst | | Description of Duties: | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 5 business days per week Some occasional longer business hours Some programming responsibilities may involve work outside of normal business hours. •Work with Business Analysts as needed while designing, coding or testing programs and implementing applications •Develop Web based applications according to the needs of the business using any or all of the following languages/tools: Visual Studio, SharePoint, SQL Server, C#, ASP.NET, XML, Web Services •Utilize commonly accepted best practices to test developed code in our development, quality assurance and production environments •Write Microsoft SQL Server database queries, stored procedures and functions •Responsible for analysis of requirements, designing solutions for efficiency, scalability, extensibility and performance and be involved with the full life cycle of the products development from design/architecture to coding to implementation/deployment •Maintain detailed documentation for assigned applications/projects •Work closely with the Network Operations staff to prepare environments for code migrations •Work with other team members to solve new and existing technical issues | | Applicant Requirements: | •Good interpersonal skills, questioning skills, and verbal and written communications skills •Able to work with others in a team setting •Self-starter, highly motivated •High attention to detail •Able to maintain confidentiality •Excellent customer service skills •Visually able to read the computer screen and computer printouts •Able to meet definite deadlines and deal with pressure situations | | Position Available In: | Information Technology Services | | Education and Experience: | •4 year degree or equivalent experience •2 years minimum experience with Visual Studio and Sharepoint development •SQL 2005/SQL 2008 experience •Some COBOL/AS400 programming experience ***Optional, but Preferred Knowledge and Experience •XML experience •Other "C" language programming experience •Data Warehouse development experience •Property & Casualty Insurance Background | | Application Deadline: | 7/30/2010 12:00 AM |
